According to the general planning of Ho Chi Minh City, Can Gio district with its central position in the southern gulf will be the leading nucleus for the entire coastal industrial region (including Tien Giang, Long An, Ba Ria – Vung Tau). , Dong Nai), is a financial, conference, event, and entertainment center, gathering high-quality space for the world’s leading industry experts. Developing ports in the Can Gio area to open more opportunities for the logistics and tourism industry.
Adding areas that can allow sea reclamation, in order to build infrastructure for marine economic sectors, ocean research and urban space at sea. Wind power development aims to build renewable power sources for Ho Chi Minh City, attracting businesses with high environmental standards. Develop Can Gio sea reclamation urban area in a multi-functional direction, a modern science-technology urban area and linked to the marine economic ecosystem of Can Gio Bay.
As for the Northwest urban area of Cu Chi, with a favorable geographical location located in the highest area of Ho Chi Minh City, with a regulated river basin and fertile lands, it will continue to develop and become a leading nucleus. lead the entire region in agricultural development.
In this study to adjust the planning of Ho Chi Minh City, it also mentioned establishing a system of multi-functional urban centers, connected by public transportation. Along with that is the construction of large-scale urban centers at gateways, where land funds are large and land prices are low, in order to create a place to live and work for the majority of workers. Increase population density and build regional social infrastructure at the gateway with stations belonging to the inter-regional railway system. Build a number of modern, cultural, environmentally friendly and creative urban areas to attract a highly qualified workforce (creating the basis for building a financial center in Ho Chi Minh City).
Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has 5 areas with a concentration of entrepreneurs and a highly qualified workforce that can be developed specifically to attract more of these strategic objects. District 1 and District 3; Thu Thiem area; Thao Dien – Thanh Da – Truong Tho area (Thu Duc City); Phu My Hung area expands to the southern swamps; Cho Lon area. Therefore, priority will be given to converting land funds into urban land to quickly increase development space for the city.
